I started working as the Digital Executive Producer at CW33 (KDAF), a television station in Dallas, Texas, in September 2023. This job includes writing, editing, and curating high-performing content for the cw33.com website, as well as reporting “Always Fun” lifestyle-driven happenings in and around the Dallas/Ft. From April 2022 - September 2023, I worked as a Marketing Associate at Heart+Mind Strategies, a market research agency. Part of this role included writing high-quality thought leadership articles and blogs on a wide range of topics, as well as writing for sales materials and social media copy. I also wrote our monthly Trends+Forces reports, which are reviews that cover growing trends across a wide range of topics and industries. The process of writing these reports required in-depth research, vetting sources, technical writing, and editing. See some of my favorites linked below.
Higginbotham
From February 2019 - April 2022, I was a Marketing Communications Specialist for Higginbotham, a national insurance broker. Part of my job duties included writing copy for marketing materials - including brochures, flyers, advertisements, blogs, and social media content. D Magazine
From January - May 2018, I was the Art and Production Intern at D Magazine. D Magazine Partners produce four different publications: D Magazine, D Weddings, D Home, and D CEO. My job duties mostly included designing advertisements, promotional materials, producing a high volume of quality print and digital materials - but I also had the opportunity to write a few pieces for dweddings.com. FC Dallas
I spent the summer of 2016 completing a digital content internship with FC Dallas, a Major League Soccer team based in Frisco, Texas.
My job duties included interviewing players and coaches, writing articles and creating content for the website, assisting with game-day coverage, and contributing to all official social media accounts. You can read some of the articles I wrote for FC Dallas below. I also wrote social media content, which you can check out on my social media page.
The Optimist, Abilene Christian University
For three years while I was in college, I gained valuable hands-on journalism experience by working for ACU's newspaper The Optimist. I worked as a staff reporter, sports copyeditor, and the arts & features editor as well as being part of the editorial board — and I wrote over 100 stories ranging from news and sports to columns and features. My job included writing articles for digital and print publication on a weekly (sometimes daily) deadline, contributing story ideas in weekly staff meetings, designing print layouts, while co-managing a team of writers and photographers.
